YAY! It's Wednesday. Normally I wouldn't be so excited about hump day but it's a special hump day. We have tomorrow and Friday off for a Buddhist holiday (I think). Also, my website is up and running..in a very basic sort of way. But that makes me happy. I've put loads of old pics up and some new ones..but mostly what I had up on friendster...lesliebeebe.com (plug no.1)

Dave and I head back to the U.S. on Monday night and arrive in San Fran on Tuesday for my sisters' wedding in Oregon. I can't wait! My old cell will be working
(585) 317-0101 so call me! YAY! It'll be a short visit but soo nice to be home with food from home. We are going to hit cosco so hard they won't know what happened. I want cereal..granola cereal and peanut butter..oh yeah. Anything non-perishable will do. My carry-on will be empty and will contain 1 item only when I return here..food. I can't wait!!!!

Tomorrow we have an important 8:30am meeting downtown..we'll have to leave by 7am..yikes. But it's a meeting with the wedding coordinator at a resort in Krabi. I reallly like this place. Dave found it online and it's a 5-star and right on the beach. It looks amazing. They let you pick and choose everything but take care of it all. And for soo cheap. Anyway, we may have an official date tomorrow and that is sooo exciting. It hasn't really felt like we've been engaged since we haven't thought too much about the wedding yet. But now it feels like it's materializing and it's soo fun! I'm glad Dave is into planning too. At first, I was kind of annoyed since the little control freak in me wanted to decide everything but then I realized that I'm sooooo lucky to have a dude that wants to contribute equally and help plan things.

I'll be out of commission for a good week or two. But I'll have sweet pics when I get back on my new and improved website...lesliebeebe.com (plug no.2)

Take care.

July 14, 2005

It's Thursday. I will be happy when tomorrow rolls around. It's been a hectic week to say the least. Dave and I both had really rough days yesterday at work but everything feels better today.

We had the weirdest experience yesterday. We got home from work at about 10:00pm last night and decided to go get some food. So we dropped off our stuff and home and headed back out. As we were riding our bikes home we were commenting on the humidity since it's been raining here for a few days. But when we went back out to get food it was COLD! It was so weird. It was really windy and it was obvious a storm was coming but it was so crazy. It felt like 65 or so. Dave was smart and took his rain coat but I didn't think it'd come on so fast. We sat down for dinner and then bam..the rain came and didn't stop all night. Luckily, there's a 7-11 near our dinner spot so I bought my 2nd, 7-11 umbrella.

I'm really looking forward to this weekend. There's a wine tasting event on Saturday in Bangkok and tomorrow, Dave and I are headed into the city for his first fitting. He's getting a suit custom made here and I haven't seen it yet so I'm excited. I'm sure I'll have lots to write about on Monday. YAY!

July 8, 2005

Good afternoon! I just wrote a whole entry and then friendster deleted it! ahhh! Well, I wrote about how upsetting the London attacks have been. We came home after tennis and turned on the news and watched BBC for a couple hours in silence, just staring. All those stupid terrorists are doing is making Western societies more united..uh, I hate that word.

Dave and I are heading into Bangkok in a little bit to pick up my Kiehl's face soap that I left at the beach hotel we stayed at a few weekends ago. That's right. We're making a trip for my face soap. But it's not just any face soap. I'm afraid to try a cheap face soap here since everything is in Thai and I don't want to risk the disaster if I'm allergic. And this bottle was 2/3 full so really, it's worth our time to get it. haha. I'm still trying to justify it myself because I know how ridiculous it sounds. Oh well.

I have a new project starting this weekend. I'm coaching an all female brass quintet. It sounds like a Beebs idea but it wasn't. A teacher from Bangkok met with me yesterday and told me about his idea and gave me a small budget for the year..mostly for my fees. I'm excited to get started. I don't think anything like this has been done before in Thailand. Girl power music making is fun! YAY!

We're also going to paint our condo this weekend! I'm so excited. The off-white walls and floors are driving me mad and I've decided I'll just die if I don't paint them. I can't decide what color will go with our lime green couches though. We have a lot of blue in the apartment but I don't think I'm a fan of blue walls. I want a happier color like faint yellow or pink! I don't think Dave will go for pink walls..I'll take pictures.

Our next weekend beach trip is underway. We found a package on Thai Airways that's $100 per person for round-trip airfare from Bangkok and 2 nights hotel/breakfast at a resort in Krabi. It's down South and I can't wait to check it out. Krabi is where all the limestone rock formations popping out of the water are. I'm not typically a resort/package traveller but I'm over that. It's so cheap and after alll the SAYOWE work we've been putting in at night, we deserve it. Another justification. haha. Anyway, we have a 4 day weekend coming up..I love Thai holidays!

That's all I have for now..it's starting to smell like sewage in the hallway. YUCK. Have a great weekend!

July 4, 2005

It's the 4th of July! Crazy. It's Monday afternoon which sort of sucks but Dave and I had a great weekend. We went into Bangkok to Siam Square which really reminds me of NYC. It's really crowded, a little dirty and tons of boutiques! We went on a Lonely Planet hunt for this restaurant called the Pickle Factory! The description was that it had sausage pizzas but you had to walk down a dark soi (alley) to get there and to watch out for dogs. Being the tour manager for the restaurant search, I took Dave down every single soi off of the road on the map but there was no pickle factory to be found. We founds loads of street food vendors, an organic health food store, a Tops grocery store but no Pickle Factory. The last one we tried I was sure was right. It was dark and windy but nope..no Pickle Factory. We were getting really hungry so we headed to Siam Square and went straight for.......Hard Rock Cafe. hahaha. I don't think I've ever eaten at one of those. I'm ashamed to admit it but I LOVED the pulled pork sandwich. Oh my gosh...it felt like we were back home.

On Sunday we headed back into Bangkok and saw "War of the Worlds." It was that or "Batman Begins." After the movie we got our first Thai HAIR CUTS. That was scary man. Oh my gosh! I was soo worried I was going to have a mullet. There are a lot of those here. But they let us sit next to eachother the whole time and the head massage while they shampooed our hair was AWESOME. My cut is really cute and the guy that cut Dave's styled it too! haha. He looked like Brandon from 90210..extreme side part..funny. Anyway, it looks cute today.

We're underway on our next project here. It wasn't even a whole week off from ITG and now it's SAYOWE. It's the South East Asian Youth Orchestra and Wind Ensemble. It's like an All-State program but for all of South East Asia. Our school hosts this event every year and last year it was at Phuket...dang. This year it's at school...boring. Nah, it'll be fun but Dave and I are in charge of hiring conductors and soloists. haha..Can you see Dave and I negotiating??

Shopping here is pretty amazing...I finally went this weekend and I got a concert blouse for $10 and a work knit top for under $10! I love that! This week is pretty busy but I'm really looking forward to heading home in a couple weeks. My sisters' wedding is coming up FAST. That's all I got. See ya!
